A Yeadon furniture store which is to star in a TV programme will throw open its doors for a re-launch party today.
Family-firm Kettley’s will feature in a new BBC2 series to be aired in the New Year. TV production company Twofour have been filming at the Yeadon shop for the last seven weeks for the new series, Alex Polizzi – The Fixer.
Alex has a long family business pedigree. Her grandfather founded the Forte hotels group, and her mother and uncle still run it. Alex herself runs two hotels and helps to manage her husband’s baked goods company.
In this new series Alex – also to be seen in Channel 5’s The Hotel Inspector – uses her business skills to go into family firms who have various different problems or challenges and help turn those businesses round.
The TV show found that Kettley’s was a bit stuck in the past and needed some help to move forward.
Alex said: “There’s nothing wrong with being traditional but you don’t have to be old-fashioned”.
With its showroom on Ivegate Kettley’s says it is proud to be regarded as the “leading chair specialist of the North”.
A family-owned and run firm, they have spent over 60 years building their reputation.
