NEW striker Darryn Stamp made his mark on Guiseley’s pre-season by netting in each of their warm-up matches this week.
Stamp netted the only goal of Tuesday’s 1-0 win over Clitheroe in the 72nd minute after appearing as a second half substitute after scoring in Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Frickley Athletic.
Guiseley were thwarted in their quest for a goal-fest by a combination of the woodwork and good defending at Clitheroe.
Last season’s leading scorer Jamie Walshaw had a second-half strike ruled out for offside.
Stamp gave Guiseley the lead at the start of the second half at frickley but the home side equalised ten minutes from time when Adam Lee headed home.
Manager Steve Kittrick took the opportunity to give his squad members game time in the two matches.
Among those looking to catch the eye was teenage defender Jake McEaney from Skipton who has been released by Burnley.
Guiseley will continue their pre-season preparations at Farsley celtic on Saturday before staging their final warm-up match against gateshead at Nethermoor on August 7.
Following promotion to the Blue Square North the club is giving supporters the opportunity to watch the Lions in their debut season at last season’s prices by purchasing a season ticket which includes admission to all 21 home league fixtures, pre-season games and all Reserve Team home games.
Tickets are £147 for adults and £73 for concessions (over 60's, under 16's, students and the unemployed) saving £42 on the adult price and £32 on for the concessions.
Normal matchday admission prices, which having remained the same for the past two seasons, will increase to £9 for Adults and £5 for concessions for the coming season.
Moving up to their highest ever league placing brings with it a significant increase in costs, (around 30-35 per cent in travel costs alone) and although the club has sought to absorb these wherever possible, a slight increase in matchday admission prices was almost inevitable, but Nethermoor will be one of the cheapest places to watch Conference football.
