BRASSNECK Theatre is planning a real feast of family fun when it presents The Addams Family musical at Yeadon Town Hall next month.
The traditional Saturday night slot has been ditched to allow a 5pm show to make it easier for families to attend.
"The Addams Family is a fantastic musical and one that all the family can enjoy," a spokesman said. "We have two shows on Saturday, November 14, the first at 1pm and the second at 5pm. We feel this will allow lots of families to see the show; it gets a bit late for some children when we have a 7.30pm start."
The show, which opened on Broadway to rave reviews is based on the family of characters created by cartoonist Charles Addams, including parents Morticia and Gomez, children Wednesday and Pugsley, Uncle Fester, Cousin Itt and butler Lurch.
The musical features an original story, and it’s every father’s nightmare. Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family. A man her parents have never met. And if that wasn’t upsetting enough, she confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before — keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s 'normal' boyfriend and his parents.
The Addams Family runs at Yeadon Town Hall from Wednesday, November 11 to Saturday, November 14, at 7.30pm Wednesday to Friday and 1pm and 5pm on Saturday. Book online at www.brassnecktheatre.com or call the BrassNeck box office on 0113 2505011.
