Following the world premiere of the event at the Royal Albert Hall this autumn, Danny Elfman’s Music from the Films of Tim Burton will be coming to the first direct arena in Leeds this October.
The show, which has already sold out at the Royal Albert Hall, is a celebration of the extraordinary collaboration between the acclaimed composer and visionary filmmaker, and its appearance in Leeds will be the only date in northern England.
The brand new orchestral event features Danny Elfman’s famous film scores brought to life on stage by the BBC Concert Orchestra under the baton of John Mauceri, and enhanced by visuals on the big screen of Tim Burton’s original film sketches, drawings and story boards.
Celebrating the nearly three- decade-long partnership of two of Hollywood’s top creators, the event features films from a fascinating back catalogue of classics such as Beetlejuice, Batman and Batman Returns, Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Alice in Wonderland.
Danny Elfman’s Music from the Films of Tim Burton explores the collaborative relationship between music and storytelling and the process and importance that it has in filmmaking.
Four-time Oscar nominee Danny, who, as well as playing various instruments, will be making his first public singing performance in 18 years.
Tickets for the Tuesday October 8 concert, priced from £25, are available at firstdirectarena.com, by calling 0844 248 1585 or in person from the box office located in Leeds Town Hall.
