Thirty two children from across the Wharfedale area, aged from seven years to 15 years, performed a mini-version of Les Miserables at Hollygarth Social Club last Friday.
They had been working hard all week in sweltering temperatures at Joze School of Performing Arts in Ilkley town centre under the leadership of Mark Allan, assisted by Laura Birtwhistle and Rachel Shimbles.
Mark said: “The performances by the young actors and their achievements were tremendous, putting on a show that brought many a tear to the eyes of the audience.”
Several of the children will also be attending a workshop on the musical Grease, also taught by Mark at Ilkley Amateur Operatic Society, on August 18-23.
