Unsigned Bradford band Voxe are aiming for the Top 40 – by the power of social media.
The girl band is appealing for people to spread the word about their new single Happy Tears via Twitter and Facebook.
The single will be released on iTunes next month. On Tuesday Voxe are embarking on a “40 Day Top 40 Challenge” aimed at creating a buzz about the single online, so enough people will download it for it to hit the Top 40 on Sunday, September 22.
“There are a lot of artists such as Justin Bieber and Jessie J who have broken into the music industry through the hype of social media, and there’s no reason why we can't do the same,” says Sophie Wysoczanski.
“Voxe have been together three years now, working hard writing, recording and gigging all over the country. Our biggest achievement to date was supporting Hatty Keane on her UK tour.”
The band, comprising four singers who met as Bradford Bulls cheerleaders, auditioned for ITV's X-Factor last year. They also won Best Original Song at last year’s Live And Unsigned regional finals.
