An Ilkley-based GP’s photographic work has been recognised after being shortlisted for two prestigious national art awards.
Ross Brown’s Icelandic exhibition showing photographs from his 2013 visit to the country’s glaciers is currently showing at The Lime Gallery near Settle and this week he heard one of the images currently showing is through to the final round of judging in the ‘nature’s design’ category of the 2014 Natural History Museum’s wildlife photographer of the year competition.
Another five of the Icelandic images have also been selected for the final round of judging in the ‘landscape’ and ‘nature’s studio’ categories of the 2014 GDT European Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition.
Ross visited Iceland last summer to take the breathtaking aerial shots which capture the stunning geography and geology of the glaciers, mountains and plains of this extraordinary and colourful landscape. The ‘Iceland Revealed’ exhibition is on show every day at The Lime Gallery at The Courtyard near Settle until Wednesday, April 23.
