The Airedale Symphony Orchestra stirs up a musical tea on Sunday, January 14, at Victoria Hall, Saltaire for a teatime concert with a little taste of something for everyone.
After the sell-out success of the orchestra's last visit to Saltaire you need to get your tickets now.
The Peer Gynt Suite' is loved by children and adults everywhere. It's famous for its wonderful depiction of the sun rising in Morning' and for frightening us with thoughts of what might lie in wait in The Hall of the Mountain King'.
Dvorak's intensely dramatic and exciting Symphony No 7 in D minor' is regarded as one of his supreme symphonic achievements.
It paints a picture of the Czech people and reveals Dvorak's intense patriotism and his love of the Czech spirit.
In Strauss' passionate tone poem Death and Transfiguration', an artist lies on his deathbed in a squalid garret dreaming of himself in childhood, as a dashing young man, and then involved in a passionate love affair.
Beautiful and exhilarating, the music ends in a radiant climax as the artist draws his last breath.
A pre-performance talk will be available free of charge to ticket holders at 2.15pm.
The concert starts at 3pm and tickets at £10 (£8 & £5 concessions), children under 11 free, are available from the orchestra ticket secretary on 01943 607533 or on the door. The pre-concert talk is free to ticket holders.
