Dairy cows are the star performers in The Moo Man, Ilkley Film Society's next screening, on Sunday at 8pm at Ilkley Playhouse.
Filmed over four years near the Sussex coast, it is the true story of farmer Stephen Hook as he struggles to save his family farm.
Refusing to deal with supermarkets, he resolves to stay small, rely on direct selling to customers and devotes himself to the welfare of his beloved cows, including Ruby, Kitty and his favourite, Ida.
But the high-spirited animals have personalities of their own and don't always co-operate.
Hilarious and tear-jerking, this beautifully-shot film shows the hardships of small-scale farming and the deep bonds between man and countryside.
Guest tickets for non-members of the Film Society cost £4 (£2 for students) and can be reserved by telephoning Richard Fort on (01535) 653471. Further information on the current season is available online at ilkleyfilmsociety.org.uk.
