Artwork with a cycling theme produced by members of two Wharfedale clubs is on display at Ilkley’s Manor House Museum and Art Gallery until June 1.
The Manor House Museum, on Castle Yard, is holding an art exhibition with a cycling theme as the town prepares for the Grand Depart of the Tour de France this summer.
The exhibition features work from members of Menston Arts Club and Burley in Wharfedale Art Club. The two art clubs have worked closely with Bradford Museums and Galleries exploring cycling-related items to use as inspiration for a series of sketches and paintings.
These are displayed throughout the exhibition alongside the objects of inspiration. There is a large array of other works, some of which have been inspired by the Tour de France in Yorkshire and the towns and villages along the route.
The exhibition is upstairs at the Manor House Museum. Many of the artworks are for sale.
Menston Arts Club will also hold a two-day exhibition at Kirklands Community Centre, Main Street, Menston, on May 10 and 11.
The exhibition will be open from 10.30am to 5pm on Saturday and from 10.30am to 4.30pm on Sunday.
There will be a cafe serving refreshments and homemade cakes throughout both days. Admission is free and there is ample parking with disabled access.
