An eclectic weekend of entertainment at Otley Courthouse next weekend will begin with an evening of blues and reggae.
Two acclaimed regional acts will join forces from 8pm on Friday, May 16, when veteran blues act CJ Smith are followed by reggae specialists Mojah.
Tickets cost £9 or £7 in advance, or £10 or £8 on the door.
Then, on Saturday, May 17, the Courthouse, in partnership with Ilkley Literature Festival, will host a Fame Factor Club Night aimed at giving 12 to 17-year-olds a chance to show off their talents.
Centre manager Chloe Perry said: “It will be a great night out for teens and feature a competition for young, would-be stars for the title of best solo artist, best band, and best material.”
The age-restricted evening will include a juice bar and other refreshments. Audience tickets cost £5, and anyone wishing to perform should call (01943) 601210 or e-mail info@ilkleyliteraturefestival.org.uk .
The weekend will be concluded in classy style with a performance from Otley Chamber Orchestra on Sunday, May 18 which actually takes place at the Methodist Church Hall - but will raise money for the Courthouse.
The talented local group, led by Chris Hodges with guest conductor Mark Ostyn, will play a range of classics including Weber’s Overture Der Freischutz, and Tchaikowsky’s Swan Lake.
The show starts at 7.30pm and tickets cost £8 or £6, with under 18s admitted for free.
