Science and music will feature in a full weekend of activities at Otley Courthouse.
Dr Marty Jopson from the BBC’s One Show will present a historical tour of fascinating inventions on Saturday, May 24.
The power of a vacuum, the lethal properties of steam and a demonstration of a carrot cannon will all feature in his stage show Inventions Going Bang!
Tickets for the 7.30pm show cost £9 or £7 in advance, or £10 or £8 on the door.
Earlier the same day, from 10am to noon, the Courthouse will host an event which will see children using a range of different materials to express themselves creatively during an Art Stars session.
Aimed at five to 12 year olds - children under eight must have parents or carers who stay at the venue throughout the session - the workshop costs £5, which includes materials.
All abilities are catered for just bring your creativity.
Also on the same Saturday will be an introduction to Indian meditative music, Manasamitra, at 1pm.
The workshop will be led by Supriya Nagarajan, a vocalist and exponent of South Indian classical music who has performed in stages all over the world.
Nada yoga, or the practice of vibration, will be studied and Indian music introduced through melodies, exercises and rhythmic patterns.
Set at a leisurely pace to suit participants of all abilities, the two hour workshop intends to provide a gentle introduction to Indian music with a meditative, spiritual feel.
