IN time for Mother’s Day and in celebration of SOS mothers, a group of local artists is hosting a charity art exhibition in Addingham at the weekend.
This free-to-attend exhibition takes place on Saturday from 11am until 2pm at Addingham’s Memorial Hall.
The event will feature the work of five local artists (Joanna Angus, John Giles, Lisa Hinds, Susannah Lawless, and Jenny Young) with pieces covering a diverse range of subjects from local landscapes, to the African Savanna.
A proportion of the profits raised during the exhibition will go to the SOS Children’s Villages charity.
The organiser of the event, Joanna Angus said: “The SOS Children’s Villages charity is close to my heart, and a charity I support each year because of the loving homes and families they give to orphaned and abandoned children worldwide.
“The exhibition will provide a unique opportunity to purchase handcrafted gifts for your own mothers whilst also supporting the wonderful work of SOS mothers who are devoted to caring for these most vulnerable children.
“With Mother’s Day around the corner and with a diverse range of original and limited edition art works available, I am looking forward to what is shaping up to be a vibrant and well-attended event.”
SOS Children’s Villages is an independent, non-governmental international development organisation and registered charity, providing orphaned and abandoned children with loving family homes in 125 countries.
