Girl footballers from Guiseley are celebrating a result after getting a new sponsor for their ageing kit.
The Guiseley Girls U13’s team only started just over three years ago but they have already won the West Riding Girls League in the 2010/2011, and the U12's Shield Cup in the 2011/2012 season. This year they are in Division 1 and have only lost once out of eight matches played.
But the youngsters were being held back by their kit which was quickly becoming too small and difficult to play competitive football in.
Team manager Simon Wilson and club co-ordinator Amanda Shaw, were struggling to find a new sponsor after speaking to a number of local companies but finding no one had the funds available.
But Rawdon-based company GFS Plastics has saved the day by buying the team a new kit.
Director Gavin Rice, who has been involved with local grass roots football in the past, said he felt it was important to be involved in local community projects.
