World-renowned opera singer to perform in Ilkley
International soprano Una Barry (pictured) will perform a sung mass at St Margaret’s Church in Ilkley on Sunday.
She will perform works by Jean Langlais, Missa in Simplicitate and Motet: Ave Maris Stella, and give the first performance of Christopher Rathbone’s God of Gods (Ps50), at the church on Queens Road.
She will be accompanied by Mr Rathbone on organ.
The celebrant will be the Canon Godfrey Higgins, and the Rev Dick Watson will be the speaker.
A retiring collection will take place for St Margaret’s Mission Fund, supporting worldwide charities.
The mass will start at 10.45am.
