The annual Churches Together in Ilkley Holiday Club starts on Monday at St John’s Church, Ben Rhydding.
Doors open at 9.45am for a 10am start, and the club lasts until noon, every day next Friday, August 16.
The club is aimed at primary school age children and is run by volunteers from churches across Ilkley and Ben Rhydding.
The theme is ‘Space Academy’ and children will be in groups based on the planets and make lots of crafts and play lively games.
Organiser, Ruth Jones, said: “The holiday club is very popular every year for children who don’t go to church regularly and for children who are part of local churches.
“We are looking at Bible stories about Daniel, who was taken from his homeland to a different culture, and how he stayed true to his beliefs and ideals even when pressured to change by those around him.
“Although Bible stories are old, the themes of integrity, bravery, kindness and friendship resonate with 21st century children and we hope to help them cope with modern life in a positive way as well as having lots of fun with their friends.”
The club costs £2.50 per child per day and children can sign up for all week or attend a few sessions. For more details, phone 07739459078 or visit churches-together-ilkley.net or e-mail cti-info@cheerful.com.
