Children at Tranmere Park Primary School in Guiseley enjoyed a fabulous arts week, learning dances from around the world and dancing through the decades.
The week of events contributed towards the school’s bid for an Artsmark Gold award. Younger children danced around the Caribbean learning the bogle, butterfly and dougie, while older pupils learned the Charleston, danced to Thriller and enjoyed disco, jiving and doing the jitterbug.
Ros Porteous, LKS2 team leader at the school, said: “We ended the week with a fabulous performance assembly – great fun, great music and great teachers from Artis Education.
“We are proud of our creative approach to learning and this is one of the many ways Tranmere Park Primary School continue to provide an exciting and innovative curriculum.
“We encourage an experiential approach and value these lessons as they motivate pupils to learn in a fun way.”
