A nursing and homecare recruitment agency based in Ilkley is to move to new headquarters and increase its staff after winning a public sector contract.

Twenty Four Seven Nursing has been accepted by the Government Procurement Service Framework to supply agency nurses and social workers to the public sector.

The company is moving from Marsel House, Stephenson’s Way, to larger, state-of-the-art premises on Grove Promenade, to allow for the expansion of its already 25-strong team which is expected to increase by about 50 per cent.

It is also set to open a new office in Birmingham in early September to serve the demand for qualified nurses in the West Midlands.

As one of the only agencies in the North of England on the framework, Twenty Four Seven Nursing beat competition from several blue chip companies.

The framework is for the supply of temporary nurses of all bands and sub-job families over its four- year duration.

It replaces the previous framework – which Twenty Four Seven Nursing was also on – with one which provides more rationalised supply base with standardised pay rates and improved quality, availability and performance of temporary nurses.

Twenty Four Seven is one of the only suppliers based in the North of England to secure a place on the GPS framework for the supply of general nursing, mental health and community healthcare staff.

Owner and manager of Twenty Four Seven Nursing, Janet Smith, said: “The new tender process to get onto the GPS Framework for the supply of agency nurses was more competitive than ever and we’re incredibly proud to have secured such a strong position on a national stage.

“We believe that what makes us special is the fact that we are a family company with family values and we go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that the staff we supply are trained to the highest possible standards. With a dedicated full time in-house trainer, we invest a lot of time and resource into candidates before they go into the workplace. We’re excited about our expansion plans, especially our move into in a new region.”

GPS’ Agency Nurses and Social Workers framework agreement supports the Government’s aim to deliver significant, sustainable savings for the taxpayer by centralising, standardising and aggregating procurement spend for common goods and services.

The Ilkley business was established in April 2000.
