A chiropractor from Ilkley lent a hand to help an intrepid team of charity fundraisers run from Land’s End to John O’Groats.
Jason O’Connor, from Advanced Wellness Chiropractic, supported the Ultra 6 World Record Attempt from Land’s End to John O’Groats.
A team of six runners set out from Cornwall to raise money for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity and the Forces Children’s Trust.
Three of the team – Andy North from Guiseley, Mick Bowden and Ben Wood – finally crossed the line at 10pm on July 20, at John O’Groats to set a provisional world record time of 6 days, 16 hours and 30 minutes.
They were accompanied on their route by Corporal Andy Reid, formerly of 3 Yorks, who lost three limbs in an explosion in Afghanistan. Mr O’Connor said: “As a chiropractor, I work with the spine and nervous system, removing any nerve interference, allowing the body to self-heal and self-regulate. It was an inspiration to be part of such an amazing challenge, by providing the team with regular adjustments throughout the challenge it allowed them to function at their optimum.”
