Fire crews were called from across Leeds and Bradford last Friday after a Jet2 plane had to make an emergency landing at Leeds Bradford Airport.
A flight to Amsterdam that had taken off shortly before 7.30am had to turn around and land again just a few minutes later after a “technical issue” in the cockpit.
No-one was hurt, but as a precaution fire crews were dispatched, with engines sent from Rawdon, Leeds, Idle, Moortown, Huddersfield and Shipley in case of complications.
A fire service spokesman said all the passengers disembarked safely and without incident once the plane landed.
Shortly after the landing a spokesman for Jet2, which is based at the airport, said: “Flight LS201 from Leeds Bradford Airport to Amsterdam returned to Leeds this morning due to a technical issue which is currently being investigated.
“The aircraft landed safely and all passengers disembarked safely. A replacement aircraft will fly passengers out to Amsterdam this morning. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.”
