The landmark 40th anniversary Addingham Allotments and Gardens Association Show attracted a high quality of produce and excellent standard of handicrafts and floral art.
The show, held at Addingham Memorial Hall, Main Street, on Saturday, welcomed 286 exhibits, plus 65 children’s entries.
As well as the high standard of entries from the grown-ups, organisers say all the children’s entries were exceptional.
They thanked staff at Addingham Primary School for allowing the pupils to use their imagination in the various sections.
The judges were left with some difficult decisions to make to pick out the winners of the classes.
The show was open to the public in the afternoon and again was very well supported and it was reassuring to hear some encouraging comments.
The chairman welcomed David Harrison, together with the village Gala Queen, Keira Heckman, to present the trophies to the prize winners.
This year, the Association asked if members would like to sponsor classes for the show and there was an excellent response, this money raised goes a long way to finance the show.
Organisers would like to thank the sponsors, and asked that villagers show support to the businesses which donated raffle prizes – The Co-operative Food, Acorn Horticultural Suppliers, Twin Locks Garden Centre, Lishman’s of Ilkley, The Olive Branch and Mortens of Ilkley.
