After months of training riding up some of Yorkshire’s finest steep hills including Otley Chevin, Pool Bank and The Cow and Calf, a cyclist has completed a 100-mile cycling challenge around London and Surrey.
Bryan Hindle (pictured left), managing director of Brick-Tie Ltd, based in Leeds, was one of over 15,000 riders who took part in The Prudential London Surrey 100. He tackled the ride to raise £1,200 for The Samaritans – double his target.
He said: “The Samaritans help thousands of people through hard times every year and have saved the lives of many people.
“The event was a delight and the people of London and Surrey came out in force, cheering us along in the sunshine.
“Finishing on the Mall right before Buckingham Palace was so special and I had a day I’ll never forget.
“Raising double my target is the icing on the cake and my thanks go to my family, team members, professional contacts, members of our industry trade body the Property Care Association, workmates and suppliers, who have supported me from the start.”
The event, which took place on August 4 was broadcast on television and watched by millions.
