Former fraud investigator John Brennan created eye-catching floral arrangements when he visited Ilkley Flower Club this month.
He told the club stories of hilarious things that have happened to him over the years, from growing up in a large family of aunties and cousins in Scotland to the funny and unexpected encounters during his working career.
His arrangements were beautifully presented on a variety of household objects. These included a metal waste paper bin decorated with a black feather boa and jewels, an umbrella stand that had been sprayed and decorated with silver crystals, and a metal ostrich named Kevin.
His final piece was a giant wristwatch.
Flowers included colourful dendrobium orchids, anthuriums, gerbera, sunflowers, roses, larkspur, bells of Ireland and carnations.
The next meeting will be held on Monday, September 9, at the Clarke Foley Centre, at 7.30pm, when Jan Faulkner from Middlesbrough will give a demonstration entitled Autumn Splendour.
