Otley Cycle Club is teaming up with a school to hold this year’s Otley Cycle Fest.
The 2014 celebration of all things two-wheeled will take place on Sunday, June 22 and be based at Ashfield Primary School.
As well as featuring road rides of different distances to suit all abilities, along with a mountain bike trail, the day will include cycle coaching taster sessions, roller racing, a hog roast, bar and music.
Ashfield Primary’s head teacher, Sybil Parker, is looking forward to school pupils and their families getting involved.
She said: “We were recently the top primary school in Leeds in the Sustrans Big Pedal 2014, so our pupils are already showing how keen they are to cycle.
“Having a joint celebration with Otley Cycle Club will be a great way to further encourage their interest in cycling. We hope pupils from all Otley will take part too.”
The cycle rides, with distances ranging from 15 miles to 100 miles, are free to enter and open to all and will leave from the school at 9am. They will include cafe stops so riders are encouraged to bring some money.
A five-mile cycle path ride around Otley, meanwhile, begins at 1pm.
The festival, which will also include games, football and a bouncy castle, runs until 6pm and children under 14 are welcome but should be accompanied by an adult.
