Pupils and staff at Ghyll Royd School are celebrating this week after passing their secondary school entrance exams with outstanding results and offers of four scholarships.
Children are thrilled to have secured places at Ermysted’s Grammar School, Skipton Girls’, Bradford Grammar, Giggleswick and Gateways School. Three children performed to such a high standard that they have been offered scholarships for both Bradford and Giggleswick schools, one of which has been awarded the Partridge Award for highest academic attainment in the entrance examination, from Giggleswick School.
Jo Jenkinson, head teacher of the Burley-in-Wharfedale school, said: “Once again these outstanding results are testament to the hard work and dedication of the pupils and staff.
“To gain entrance to your chosen school is an achievement in itself, but to perform to such a high standard as to be offered two scholarships is tremendous.”
She added: “Well done to all of our Form 6.”
