The search is back on for a new Ilkley town crier following the retirement of long-serving figure Chris Richards.
Mr Richards stood down in December after a decade in the role, reading the Yorkshire Day declaration and many other public duties.
Ilkley Parish Council recently advertised the role, but only one candidate came forward. They hope a renewed call will kindle interest locally and from further afield.
It was suggested Ilkley may be able to share the services of a town crier from another area, although there could be a clash of engagement dates, such as Yorkshire Day, August 1.
