A proposed extension to an Ilkley care home has been recommended for refusal by Bradford Council planners.
Council officers are suggesting that the Keighley and Shipley Area Planning Panel turns down the plans for a second-floor extension at Abbeydale, Grove Road, at their meeting on Wednesday.
More than 190 letters of support for the application were sent to the council, and 65 letters of objection were also received.
Ilkley Parish Council also recommended refusal of the scheme.
In their report to the Planning Panel, officers said the bulk, height and sparse detailing would over-dominate and compound the negative impact that the existing extensions have on the property and surrounding area.
The report also said there was a lack of information relating to the proposed number of residents and how the parking arrangements would operate to fully assess its impact.
Supporters of the plans said the extension would blend in better with the building than the current extension and felt the expansion of the business would benefit Ilkley.
