Christchurch in Ilkley will welcome Noah and Kate Mitchell on Sunday as they take up their new post as lay employees for children, young people and their families.
A married couple with one young son, Mr and Mrs Mitchell are moving from St Albans to take up this role, supporting Christchurch’s work with the local community and extending the opportunities to serve the families of Ilkley.
Mr Mitchell is a former youth worker and Mrs Mitchell is a former primary school worker. They plan to work in a job share so that they can care for their young son, Asher.
Christchurch minister, the Rev Rob Hilton, said: “We look forward to Noah and Kate’s arrival and we will welcome them on Palm Sunday morning at our 9am service. Noah and Kate’s first official service will be on Good Friday at the all age interactive service at 10am, which aims to do for Easter what Christingle does for Christmas.”
