A new tax cut has been welcomed by Ilkley MP Kris Hopkins.
He said the rise in personal allowance to £10,000 would take an estimated 396 people in his constituency, which includes Ilkley, out of income tax. And he added that taxes would be cut again next year when the personal allowance rises further, to £10,500.
“The Chancellor’s latest tax cut is very good news for Keighley and Ilkley,” said Mr Hopkins. “This is the third time the government has cut income tax in this parliament. Cutting taxes is a key part of the Conservative party’s plan to secure a better economic outlook for everyone, sustainable for the long term.”
