There was great excitement at Moorfield School last week as the children demonstrated a wealth of musical, acting and dance skills in their own version of Britain’s Got Talent.
Out of 54 acts at the Ilkley school, 12 were chosen for the finals and performed in front of a packed hall of family and friends.
The youngest performer was only four years old.
The guest judges were Nicholas Butterfield from Opera North, Lucie Elizabeth, a professional contemporary dance teacher and Lynsey Clarke, Moorfield’s own music teacher. The children were delighted with the comments from the adjudicators who were very impressed by the diversity and talent of all the performers. The judges performed for them at the end of the show.
Form 3 teacher Sarah Open, who organised the event, said: “All the children performed with creativity and confidence that has developed in their years at Moorfield School making us all very proud of them, a great end to a happy and successful spring term.”
