The inside story of the planning and creation by Andrew Sabin of Yorkshire’s biggest and highest public artwork, the spectacular Coldstones Cut at Coldstones Quarry, Greenhow, near Pateley Bridge, is being given by Biddy Noakes on Friday, May 2, at the Washburn Heritage Centre, Fewston.
The talk will be preceded by a two-course lunch at the centre and then participants will make their own way by car to Greenhow (about nine miles) for a guided visit to the Cut itself.
The visit involves a short walk over possibly rough ground and a further optional visit to see stone craftsman Joe Hayton in his workshop at Pateley Bridge.
Tickets are £20 per person, including lunch, £16 for Washburn Society members.
