Soroptimist International of Ilkley has been raising awareness and funds for Yorkshire Air Ambulance over the past 12 months as the president’s chosen charity In May last year, a visit was made to the club by Sammy Wills, a paramedic with Yorkshire Air Ambulance, who appeared in BBC series Helicopter Heroes, and local volunteer Alison Roe. Members were enthralled with stories of the work they carry out 365 days a year.
The sum of £2,342 was raised by members in various ways. One member celebrating a special birthday asked for donations instead of gifts.
