A beer festival in Pool-in-Wharfedale has been hailed a roaring – and lucrative – success.
The Good Friday event saw about 250 people visit the Village Hall to sample 21 beer and cider varieties, along with a selection of lagers and wine.
The noon to 11pm festival, which featured live music and food, also raised more than £2,000 for organisers Pool Cricket Club and looks set to become an annual attraction.
MP Greg Mulholland (Lib Dem, Leeds North West) was among the guests.
He said: “I was pleased to attend the first Pool Beer Festival, organised by the Cricket Club with help from the Old Cock pub, in Otley.
“It was a really nice event with great beer and entertainment and it was great to see a good attendance.
“The glorious weather made it enjoyable inside and outside, and I am delighted the event raised such a good amount for the club.
“Congratulations to the organisers and I hope they will go on to plan another one next year.”
A number of local businesses, groups and individuals supported the festival by sponsoring a barrel.
