A fundraising family fun day will be held at Otley Rugby Club this month.
The event, featuring everything from a penalty shootout tournament to wet sponge stocks, face painting and a tombola, takes place from 1pm to 4pm on Saturday, May 31.
Resident June Fiddes has organised the fun day, which will also include stalls selling craftwork, plants and cakes, to raise money and awareness for a charity close to her heart – the Brain Research Trust.
June’s great niece, Lottie, has Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, a poorly understood condition – often sparked by an injury – in which the brain fails to switch off the pain response, leading to extreme pain, burning sensations and loss of circulation, which can severely limit mobility.
The trust funds research into the condition.
