Bramhope runner Andy Chaffer, also known as the Suit Runner, will compete in this Sunday’s Leeds Half-Marathon in support of the Jane Tomlinson Appeal.
Andy previously raced in his suit in the Leeds Abbey Dash in November 2013 and will complete a number of Yorkshire races wearing his suit, tie and carrying his briefcase and umbrella this year.
Andy said: “I was amazed at the determination Jane showed in her battle with cancer and in my own small way I want to play a part in continuing the excellent work she started. She took on a series of apparently impossible challenges and then completed them all.
“My challenge to is raise £1,000 in 2014 and I hope people watching the races will cheer me on to a fast time.
“My goal is to better the time set by Mo Farah in his recent London Marathon – two hours eight minutes.
“I know he ran twice the distance I will be doing but he wasn’t wearing his suit and tie or carrying his briefcase – and he is 22 years younger than me.
“If anyone can support me please donate through justgiving.com/Andy-Chaffer1”
