Crowds flocked to see a host of classic cars on display at the Menston Village Vehicle Show on Bank Holiday Monday.
The event returned by popular demand after originally being part of Jubilee celebrations in 2012.
A huge range of cars featured in a display which took over most of the village, along with a 1/10th scale fully working model of a German Tiger tank, firing puffs of smoke from its turret-mounted gun.
The event was arranged by Menston Community Association and the variety of vehicles in attendance was beyond the expectations of the organisers.
Dr Steve Ellams, chairman of Menston Community Association, said: “The vehicles were just spectacular. They ranged from 1928 up to the present day.
“A Jowett was awarded best overall vehicle of the day and the best bike was a scooter owned by our local postman.”
Dr Ellams thanked the Fairfax Club who gave the whole of their car park over to the cars and Menston Co-op who donated prizes. “I couldn’t be any happier with how the day went,” he said.
“When Menston does something it does it big time.”
As well as the vehicles there were other popular attractions.
Alan Elsegood, of Menston added: “Such a fantastic selection of two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles, with the whole event complemented by a fairground organ, the Wayzgoose Morris Dancers, bouncy castle and roundabout. All the pubs, The Fairfax Club and the Village Bakery provided food and drink. Even the weather was kind to us.”
