Further Tour de France-related roadworks will take place in Otley this month.
A highways team will carry out the resurfacing of Cross Green, Boroughgate and Market Place – the roads flow run into each other and form one stretch of the race’s route through town – from Monday, May 12, to Friday, May 16.
The Leeds City Council crew will use an easily-applied treatment called micro asphalt to seal and smooth the road and improve skid resistance.
In a further bid to minimise disruption – and avoid a repeat of the trouble caused when roadworks were carried out on Westgate in March – the work will take place in the evenings, between 7pm and 11.30pm.
Councillor Colin Campbell (Lib Dem, Otley & Yeadon) said: “This is a further stage in the resurfacing work for the Tour de France and I hope it can be carried out with the minimum of disturbance both to motorists and residents. I have asked that they liaise with the markets to ensure there are no problems.”
Temporary lights will be used on the Cross Green and Boroughgate sections during the work, while Market Place will be closed.
