A group from Wharfedale and Aireborough enjoyed seeing some of the historical highlights of London.
About 20 supporters of the annual Otley Poppy Appeal concert took part in a sightseeing trip arranged by concert organiser Irene Willis, of Guiseley.
The schedule included visits to Windsor Castle, the Tower of London and the Royal Hospital Chelsea, where they were given a tour and talk by Chelsea Pensioner John Walker and took afternoon tea.
Mrs Willis, a Royal British Legion member whose decades of fundraising work for the Poppy Appeal led to her being made an Honorary Citizen of Otley, said: “I organised the trip for the concert supporters to thank them and mark the centenary of the First World War, and see these places of historical interest which have strong military connections.
“I would like to thank our local MP Stuart Andrew (Con, Pudsey), who came to see us off and wish us well before we left Guiseley, and to Dalesman Coaches for a safe journey. It was a wonderful trip.”
Some Chelsea Pensioners have been guests of honours at the Otley Poppy Appeal shows, which are usually held at Prince Henry’s Grammar School.
