An MP walked over red hot coals to help a children’s cancer charity.
Stuart Andrew was only at the Pudsey fundraiser to show his support – but he was persuaded by organisers to take part in the firewalk in aid of the Little Heroes Cancer Trust.
The MP for Pudsey, Horsforth and Aireborough said: “I was initially going along to show my support for this unique fundraising event but was soon persuaded by Lee Cindy Naylor to take part. I confess to being apprehensive, particularly when they first lit the fire, but after excellent training I somehow found the courage to have a go. It is an experience I will not forget in a while, that's for sure.
“At the end of the day it is for a great charity and I know from my own time working at Martin House children's hospice how important it is to raise funds for such deserving children.”
