Thieves struck at a new multi-games area in an Aireborough park within days of it being opened for use.
Tennis nets and supports were taken from Kirk Lane Park, which has recently undergone a £118,000 facelift, with new play equipment and a multi-use games area.
The Multi-Use Games Area was funded from local developer contributions, following requests by local people for better facilities, and support from Guiseley and Rawdon councillors.
Ward councillor Pat Latty said: “It really is the last straw when you work for so long and invest so much time and money in a facility that will enhance the youth provision in our area, and some light fingered individuals spoil it. “The theft has been reported to the police but I appeal to the guilty parties to return the net and give all our youngsters the chance to use it.”
