Councillor Hazel Lee has been re-elected as chairman of Pool-in-Wharfedale Parish Council.
The decision, taken at the council’s meeting on May 12, means Coun Lee has now filled the position for 13 years. Councillor Joanna Rowling was elected vice chairman.
The meeting began with a minute’s silence in memory of Pool Honorary Citizen Harry Wardman, whose funeral takes place at the Methodist Chapel at 11am today and Councillor Clive Fox, who died in April.
Councillors then discussed village preparations for the Tour de France and the forthcoming meeting about the Wharfedale Greenway.
Residents will get the chance to find out more about the long-discussed scheme, to create a path and cycleway along the old railway line between Pool and Burley-in-Wharfedale, at the Village Hall on Monday, June 9.
The exhibition, part of a tour going around Pool, Otley, Burley and Menston – the places that would be linked by the route – will run from 10am to 8pm and villagers will be able to leave comments.
