Ilkley’s Abbeyfield integrated care complex will open its doors on Wednesday, June 11, as part of national Abbeyfield Week.
The Abbeyfield Society, a charitable organisation which runs sheltered housing, care homes, independent living and other services across the country, holds Abbeyfield Week every year.
Special events are held at Abbeyfield houses and care homes, hosting events that enable residents and staff to connect with the local community, help people understand what the organisation does, and get as many people as possible involved in making life better for older people.
The theme for 2014 is Open Doors.
At the Ilkley complex on Riddings Road, there will be a coffee morning on June 11 together with a raffle, and the residents’ choir will be performing.
