A local opticians has pledged to raise vital funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care during the next 12 months.
The team at Specsavers in Guiseley has chosen to back the cause, to show their support for the charity’s continued hard work to provide essential care to cancer patients, while also offering support to their families.
The store supported Marie Curie Cancer Care in 2013 and raised more than £600. Staff at the store plan to hold raffles, tombolas and fundraising days to raise even more funds for the charity during 2014.
Amanda Gale, store director at Specsavers in Guiseley, said: “As a longstanding business serving our local community for a number of years, we feel it is important to make a commitment to raise money for a local charity.
“We’re really pleased to announce that we will once again be pledging our support to Marie Curie Cancer Care, which provides vital support to cancer sufferers in the local community, while also offering help and guidance to their loved ones.
“Our customers have been great at helping us raise money for Marie Curie in the past, and I’d like to ask them to continue to show their support over the next 12 months by coming into the store and getting involved in our fundraising activities.”
