Burley-in-Wharfedale’s Summer Festival plans are progressing well and it’s now only three months until the event, from August 16 to 24.
Entries for the Burley Classic Car Show on August 17 (burleyclassicshow.org) are filling up fast with over 200 entries confirmed. The Food and Drink and Craft Markets, on August 17 are also nearly full, so if anyone wants a pitch/table contact Sylvia Tilfiord at tilford@btinternet.com for further information.
Burley has also just been recognised by the Walkers are Welcome organisation and to celebrate Burley becoming a member, a buffet lunch and talk followed by a four mile walk will be taking place on Saturday, August 16.
The scarecrow competition which was a huge success the last two years is returning with the theme being ‘Anything Goes’. Residents are already being asked to start thinking about getting their scarecrows ready.
