A father is attempting a gruelling Ben Nevis challenge in memory of his baby daughter who died last year.
Rob Field and seven friends will climb the mountain on Saturday, June 7, followed by a ten-mile cycle, a 3km canoe across a loch and finally another 15 miles on bikes.
The team are raising money for PHA UK – the pulmonary hypertension association.
Rob’s daughter Erin died aged just 14 months after being diagnosed with the extremely rare pulmonary veno-occlusive disease (PVOD).
Her family, Arthington couple Sarah and Rob and their eight-year-old son Bailey, had been trying desperately, through an online giving page, to raise enough money to pay for a lung transplant operation, possibly in the United States.
Since Erin’s death her family and others have been raising money for PHA UK – with £2,700 collected so far.
