The family of young cancer patient Isla-Grace Large have been given a massive boost this week with a £5,000 donation to help them take her abroad for life-saving proton beam therapy treatment.
The charity Kids ‘n’ Cancer has come forward with the money after hearing of the little girl’s battle with Ewing’s Sarcoma in October last year.
But the fundraising still continues as Isla-Grace’s parents attempt to raise £10,000 to allow her to get crucial cancer treatment.
Fundraisers from CLS Identification in Bradford will be abseiling down the Jurys Inn hotel in the city on March 6 and ten staff will then be cycling and running the 482 miles from Bradford to Paris on a stationary bike and treadmill between March 9 and 13.
In Yeadon a family fun day will take place at LA Fitness on Haworth Lane, Yeadon, from 1pm on Sunday. It will feature a bouncy castle and face painting for children.
The toddler has been having chemotherapy treatment at Leeds General Infirmary since she was diagnosed in October last year, when she was just 14 months old.
She is currently undergoing her fifth round and is expected to have a total of 14 treatments before October this year. She will have a major operation next month to remove the main part of her tumour on her neck.
She is clearly a brave little girl whose plight has touched many well-wishers. Anyone else who wants to help should visit islagracehospital adventure.com for more information or to make a donation.
