A WOMEN’S cycling group has raised £2,000 for an ovarian cancer charity as members get ready for a long-distance charity ride.
Cycling group The Understated raised more than £1,900 with a raffle, jewellery, cakes, bric a brac and ‘swishing’ event last Friday, at Outside The Box.
The evening was a prelude to the group’s main fundraising effort – a tough 250-mile cycle ride – which is scheduled for May. Calling themselves Ova The Hill, the group intends to cycle from Bradford-on-Avon, near Bath, to Crosby, just outside Liverpool.
All money raised will go straight to Target Ovarian Cancer via their donations website at givey.com/ovathe hill which is already up and running and has raised £3,221 so far, well on the way towards the group’s goal of raising £5,000 for the charity.
