A TALK on Disappearing Ilkley by local historian, Mike Dixon, raised about £800 towards the Clarke Foley Centre’s automatic doors appeal.
Mr Dixon gave the talk to a 200-strong audience on February 21, identifying buildings and aspects of Ilkley that have disappeared between the coming of the railway and the present day.
The fundraising total for the new access to the community centre, on Cunliffe Road, has now reached more than £34,000, and it is hoped the doors will be installed in August. The next fundraising event will be a table top sale on March 28. Booking forms can be downloaded from clarkefoley.org.uk or collected from the Centre
