WITTY jokes and catchy music will be used to help tell the story of Sleeping Beauty in a production at Yeadon.
St. John’s Church is putting on the pantomime at Yeadon Methodist Church this month, to raise money for Martin House Children’s Charity.
The new version of the children’s classic was written by Jez Dunn, a former student at Guiseley High School.
A spokeswoman for St John’s said: “It’s packed full of witty jokes and catchy music, performed live by two fantastic guitarists and two amazing piano players.
“There’s something for everyone, from the beautiful princess, to the wicked fairy and lots more in between. The cast of 16 actors range in age from 11 to about 70 and want you to enjoy yourself and help raise much-needed funds for our chosen charity, Martin House Children’s Charity.”
Refreshments will be provided by staff of the Martin House shop in Yeadon, who are also organising a raffle.
Manager Kath Grey said she was thrilled to be involved in the venture.
St. John’s Church supported Martin House with its previous pantomime, and also staged a fashion show using clothes from their shop.
Sleeping Beauty will be held at Yeadon Methodist Church Hall at 7.30pm on Friday, March 20, and Saturday, March 21, with an additional Saturday performance being staged at 2.30pm.
Tickets cost £5 for adults and £3 for children under 16 and are available from church.office@stjohnsyeadon.org or on 0113 3455257.
