PEOPLE visiting at Airedale Hospital can now easily find out more about health conditions or available support as the patient information service has moved to a more convenient location.
This week the service will open as a drop-in centre on the landing above the main entrance in a small room which has been refurbished thanks to a £7,000 donation from the hospital’s Charitable Trust Funds.
The Patient Information Service, which provides high-quality information to help people improve their health and wellbeing, was set up three years ago and was previously based in the health library, a less central site at the hospital.
The service will be staffed between 9.30am and 4pm, Mondays to Fridays, and it includes an enquiry service. Friendly staff will help visitors get free information about: health issues; support groups or services in the area; healthy living and help available for living with a long term condition.
